Professional Profile

Sociologist, working on land use planning issues with a focus on disaster risk reduction and resilience. He lives in the Bio-Bio region of Chile where he has developed activities as Executive Secretary of the National Foundation for Overcoming Poverty, Head of Planning and Regional Development of the Regional Government of the Bío Bío Region, Coordinator of the Territorial Information Centre of the National Defence for the Bío Bío Region for the Earthquake and Tsunami of February 27, 2010. He is an advisor to the Association of Municipalities of the Bío Bío Region. He has participated in projects and consulting related to land use planning with a focus on disaster risk reduction in the Itata Valley. Environmental Planning in the Nonguén National Reserve, which is the last relic of deciduous forest of Concepción on our planet. Directs the first aerial survey with fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for a Master Community Plan in Chile. Participates in the drone monitoring of the Copahue volcano crater on orange alert, among others.


   
 
 

Participates in Community Radio Lorenzo Arenas de Concepción, develops teaching activities at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Concepción and the Latin American School for Sustainable Local Development (ELADES). He is a founding member of the Foundation of Associations for Sustainable and Resilient Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Instructor of Disaster Risk Reduction and Strategic Planning for Sustainable Local Development courses of the Territory promoted by UN HABITAT and UNISDR. He specializes in the use of geotechnologies applied to territorial planning which include GIS, GPS and UAVs (drones). He is part of the applied geotechnology companies Geospace and Territorial Platform.
