Breaking Silos, Building Bridges, and Integrating Actions: The Role of Civil Society in the Sendai Framework Implementation

  • CCIC and GNDR cordially invite you to our side event:

Breaking Silos, Building Bridges, and Integrating Actions: The Role of Civil Society in the Sendai Framework Implementation

    7 March 2017, 18.00-19.00, Room: 710B

5th Regional Platform for DRR in the Americas

    Palais des Congrès de Montréal

As Governments in the Americas region begin to implement the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR), Agenda 2030, and the Paris Agreement, the capacities and resources of all actors must be maximised to ensure efficient and effective resilience building at the local level. At the same time, local resilience will only be built if we break down silos and make inter-sectoral links. On the ground problems are diverse and interlinked; communities do not perceive or experience poverty, climate change and disaster risks in isolation.

How can intersectoral and collaborative implementation of the SFDRR take place? Join us to discuss best practices, common challenges, and lessons learnt for how civil society can be a systematic partner to support cross-sectoral resilience building.

  • Simultaneous interpretation in English, French and Spanish.
