Professional Profile

Roger Torres has over 15 years of extensive local, municipal, national and international experience in the institutional field of risk management in the area of ​​prevention, mitigation, preparedness and response, humanitarian assistance and resilience.

He currently serves as Deputy Regional Commissioner and National Coordinator of COPECO volunteers, Honduras Central America and Secretary General of the Federation of Latin America and the Caribbean Associations.

National Advocate of the UNISDR Making Cities Resilient campaign and facilitator of the 10 essentials, United Nations National Volunteer Prize 2013, emergency category.

His academic background is in social sciences and law and has studied disaster risk reduction in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Panama, the United States and Korea.
