As an engineer and educator, my interest in participating as an advocate of the Resilient Cities Campaign in Colombia, is the possibility, from an educational and pedagogical process, to contribute to the communities and municipal institutions of my country, in understanding the risk management from a holistic perspective of sustainable local development, with the aim of making the country more humane, secure, resilient and environmentally sustainable. Besides being an opportunity to guide municipalities, with a strategic vision of development planning in the implementation of the 1523 law, which in 2012 led to the adoption of national  disaster risk management policy, as well as the implementation at the local level of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005 -2015 - Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters UNISDR.
