2 September 2015. St. Michael, Barbados. The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the inaugural CDEMA’s Council Award.
The Award was endorsed by the CDEMA Council of Ministers at the Sixth Meeting of the Council on June 26, 2015 in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The CDEMA Council’s Award is the highest award of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) in recognition and honour of significant long-term efforts and contributions which have clearly influenced the advancement of Comprehensive Disaster Management in the CDEMA member states.
The overall objective of this prestigious award is to promote increased awareness of and to encourage deeper engagement in advancing the Comprehensive Disaster Management approach to disaster risk reduction, including the climate change phenomenon, in the CDEMA Participating States.
The inaugural Award will be presented to an individual, Agency/Institution/Association at the Closing Ceremony, Awards and Gala Dinner of the 9th Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Melia Resort, Nassau Bahamas.
Nominations are open from September 1st, 2015 to October 15, 2015.
