For our district of Carabayllo - Lima, this opportunity to participate in the “My City is Getting Ready” campaign, is critical because it involves actions informed by Disaster Risk Management.
We have been working on risk assessment, prevention measures, risk reduction, disaster preparedeness, disaster response, rehabilitation after a disaster and reconstruction of the affected. These actions have been developed since 2011 to the present.
We have been working in coordination with the various entities of our country, to articulate the National Risk Management System.
Currently our district, along with other cities, declared a State of Emergency to the possible occurrence of El Niño.
Based on past experience, we have appropriate actions to anticapate and be prepared for this possible event.
Our priority is to promote the culture of disaster prevention with each resident of our district. To this end, we hold quarterly meetings of the Disaster Risk Management Working Gruop and the Civil Defence Platform.
Work in coordination with public and private institutions to strengthen our capacities in the development of Disaster Risk Management.
The Municipality of Carabayllo was recognized for its participation with the National Award for Prevention and Disaster Risk Reduction, which was organized by CENEPRED - Peru.
